Zeppelin Cappadocia is a 12-room stone boutique hotel on Saylar Street in Uçhisar's upper quarter: about 1 km (0.6 mi, roughly a 15-minute walk) from Uçhisar Castle and about 5 km (3 mi, around 10 minutes by car) from Göreme.

Our terrace faces Uçhisar Castle, and on mornings when flights go ahead, hot-air balloons drift over the village at sunrise. Breakfast is included and parking is free.

Why stay in Uçhisar?

Uçhisar takes its name from the rock citadel that rises from the middle of the village and is often described as one of the highest points in Cappadocia. The village sits on the Nevşehir–Göreme road, which puts it right in the geographic centre of the region.

Short drives in every direction

Göreme is about 5 km away, Ortahisar and Nevşehir city centre about 10 km, and Ürgüp and Avanos about 14 km. The southern road to the Kaymaklı and Derinkuyu underground cities also starts close to Uçhisar, so day trips involve less time in the car.

Quieter evenings

Göreme's busy strip of restaurants and tour offices gives way to calmer lanes in Uçhisar. There are fewer dinner options than in Göreme; if you want more choice, Göreme is a 10-minute drive.

Trails from the doorstep

Göreme is livelier, with more restaurants, tour offices and valleys within walking distance. Uçhisar is quieter, closer to the castle and wide viewpoints, and less crowded in the evening. Göreme suits travellers without a car who want a busy base; Uçhisar suits those who want to rest and still have a central base.

Can you walk from the hotel to Uçhisar Castle?

Yes. Uçhisar Castle is about 1 km from the hotel, roughly a 15-minute walk through the village. You can walk up for sunset and have dinner in the village on the way back.

How do I get from the airport to the hotel?

The nearest airport is Nevşehir Kapadokya Airport (NAV), about 37 km or roughly 40 minutes by car. Kayseri Erkilet Airport (ASR) is about 84 km away. We can arrange a paid airport transfer if you book it before you arrive, and there is free open-air parking if you rent a car.

Can you see the hot-air balloons from Uçhisar?

On flight mornings the balloons take off from the valleys around Göreme and, depending on the wind, can drift over Uçhisar too. From our terrace you can watch the balloons and Uçhisar Castle together at sunrise. Flights depend on the weather and do not take place on windy mornings.

Is there parking at the hotel?

Yes, there is free open-air parking at the hotel. Uçhisar's lanes are narrow and parking in the village can take time, so this is a real convenience if you are driving.
